Camouflaged

Moonlight heads, Wreck Beach  Great Ocean Road, Victoria
Rectangle, Aspect 1:1.5
Captured with Digital Camera, 17 Minute exposure

The anchor from the Fiji shipwreck of 1891 has become a seamless part of the seascape, blending naturally into its surroundings. This coastline is steeped in similar tales of ships meeting their tragic ends. Only visible during low tide, the anchor’s location requires a reasonable walk down the cliff and along the beach.

I arrived at the anchor while it was still dark, just as the day was beginning to stir. As dawn broke, the first hints of color painted the scene. By the end of the 17-minute exposure, this image emerged, capturing the natural hues without any added color during post-processing.
