The Milky River

The Himalayas  NEPAL
Rectangle, Aspect 1:1.5
Captured with Digital Camera

The Dudh Koshi River, locally called the Milky River for its cloudy appearance, courses through the Himalayas on its 90km journey to meet the Sapta Koshi, one of seven rivers where it eventually merges into the Ganges in India. A narrow suspension bridge crosses the river, linking a well-worn trekking path through mountainside villages. Overlooking the river’s rapid current, a solitary building perches on a small embankment.

The scene captures the rugged beauty and isolation of this high-altitude region, where the river carves through the landscape and the bridge serves as a crucial link for trekkers and locals. Misty mountains rise in the background, adding to the area’s serene yet wild atmosphere.
