The trail to Suhi Vrh, the highest peak on Nanos, was shrouded in fog and bordered by a dense forest, with autumn starting to leave its mark in anticipation of winter. Having heard countless stories of bear encounters in the area, I remained constantly alert, though I had no idea how I would react if I came across one. The hike was undoubtedly worth it, rewarding me with stunning views of the many small villages scattered below.
