Melaleuca is Greek for black and white and refers to the colours of the trees after they’ve been affected by fire – except this scene is far from that. This area comes to life with rain as you wander along the meandering boardwalk and immerse yourself inside this primitive section of forest. Part of the deal is the swarms of mosquitos and if not properly protected will cause you to exit at a rather rapid pace.
