Moonlight Shadow
Shoal Point MACKAY
Square, Aspect 1:1
Captured with Medium Format Velvia 100 Film
20 minute exposure at night under a full moon
Spending half the night at Shoal Point I timed my capture for the upcoming tide. Being a full moon, high tide would be higher than normal and I would soon run out of beach to shoot from. The June night was as still as you could get so peaceful and calm, interrupted only by the waves of the waves lazily lapping the shore, a perfect time to reflect on life while waiting for my cameras to absorb the light from the moon.
Fim is not designed for long exposures and the manufacturer cannot guarantee results outside of its working range but this is one of the reasons I enjoy moonlight photography you never really know what you will get until you see the processed image, this image was no exception. In the distant you can see Green Island positioned between two dead trees, the tree on the left is sadly no longer there.
