Even from above the valley, where I photographed this image, the sound of the Dudh Koshi River was deafening. The river has carved a deep path through the landscape, eroding the banks with nothing stopping its relentless flow. A solitary stone and tin structure sits perched on the opposite side, with only the river, mountains, and trees as neighbors. It appears to lead a lonely yet peaceful existence, so far removed from the rest of the world. Yet, I sense that the inhabitants of this home are probably very content with life in this isolated, tranquil setting.
